Asplenium scolopendrium - Known as the 'Harts Tongue Fern' this variety has solid looking evergreen foliage of lustrous wavy edged fronds with new ones unfurling in early spring. Lovely planted amongst other ferns for contrast or in a woodland setting must have full to part shade in a moist soil to do well, although this one can also tolerate a dry soil under trees. Blechnum spicant known as the Hard, or Deer fern, an evergreen variety with tough leathery, glossy fronds in a staggered ladder effect. The older fronds form a nice rosette around the upright central ones, it provides all year round interest for a shady spot and also tolerates dry shade areas.
