Eryngium paniculatum
New to our range, Native to South America this eryngium forms a rosette of narrow leaves which curve over, edged with spines, from which impressive, tall stout flower stems emerge producing branching white tiny globular, thistle like flower heads.
Gives a soft, textured effect working well in prairie & naturalistic planting schemes, its also very attractive to bees & other pollinators, and a great cut flower too.
Fully Hardy this eryngium prefers a sunny spot in a well drained soil, and it thrives in the hot, drought conditions which we seem to get more often now ! looks really great in a large container.
