Eucomis Bicolor

An exotic looking perennial bulb with wavy strap like leaves, from which purple spotted stems emerge forming a raceme of pale green & purple resembling a pineapple from midsummer into the Autumn, this then forms an interesting seed head lasting until the first frosts.

This plant prefers full sun and grow it in a good fertile soil with plenty of drainage, then protect with straw in winter or simply move container into a dry area to overwinter.

A native from South Africa this plant looks great grown in large containers.
