Lobelia cardinalis 'Queen Victoria'

known as the 'cardinal flower' the beetroot coloured foliage is topped by stunning spikes of scarlet, five petalled flowers in late summer adding a splash of vibrant colour to late season border or pots. a really lovely perennial in a "Hot" planting scheme. Can also be grown at a ponds edge in up to 30cm of water, and may need some protection in the winter months by mulching with straw or similar.

Thrives in dappled shade to full sun in a moist but well drained soil.
