The Miscanthus group of grasses should, in our opinion be known as the King of grasses. A very adaptable & diverse range of cultivars, all of which are reliable. Having a wide range of heights & structure plus finger like flower heads with a subtle range of colours which are produced very late in the autumn, and last well into the winter. They all require full sun in any soil and will grow in the same spot for many years quietly increasing from a central clump, but not running or becoming invasive. Suitable for mass plantings, use as a single specimen, or even in large containers
Much sought after, this very distinctive elegant variety 'Nepalensis' or the Himalayan fairy grass has narrow green leaves which turn interesting shades of bronze into the autumn. Topped with elegant arching bronze-golden flower plumes held above the foliage from late August, turning ochre-yellow into the late Autumn. Needs a sunny well drained and sheltered spot to thrive.
