Phormium tenax 'Golden Ray'

Phormium 'Golden ray', known as the New Zealand Flax, Phormiums are extremely architectural, tropical effect plants with lovely sword / strap like leaves, they must have full sun and a moist but well drained soil. Perfect in containers or in amongst a gravel planting, forming a great "statement" plant, keep them well watered during the summer months.

This medium sized variety has a semi arching habit with attractive, variegated foliage, yellow with broad green central bands, with a dark bronzy red margin. Lovely tight clusters of red flowers on stems above the main group of leaves by late summer.
