Schizachyrium scoparium 'Prairie Blues'

A stunning new cultivar of the prairie native grasses known as the 'North American Bluestem' or Andropogon as it was once named.

A very drought tolerant American Prairie grass famous for its stunning foliage colours which are a myriad of blue-green & purple creating kaleidoscopes throughout spring & summer, autumn brings reds, coppers & orange hues. Its especially suited to prairie, meadow or mixed plantings.

The upright culms produce intricate silvery blue flowers, with racemes of wispy spikelets in late summer, becoming see through by the autumn.
