Eupatorium 'Atropurpureum' also known as Eutrochium maculatum Atropurpureum or 'Joe Pye Weed' a really impressive plant with towering red stems best planted at the back of a border. dark green, toothed foliage topped with domed clusters of rosy-purple fragrant flowers, attractive to bees & all pollinators from midsummer onwards into early autumn and standing well into the winter, even the dead stems & flower heads give structure when covered in dew or frost.
Plant Eupatoriums in moist but well drained soil in full sun & they will reward you with months of flowers.
