Known as the " Japanese Heavenly Bamboo" but actually a shrub and not a bamboo at all...vibrant contrasting foliage colours throughout the season. pink-red new growth matures to a rich red colour fading to chartreuse green during the summer, very exotic in effect.
Small conical clusters of white flowers are produced in midsummer. A lovely plant in a pot, planted at the front to middle of a shrub border, or as an accent plant in a gravel garden.
Ht 60cm x Sp 60cm Prefers full sun to part shade in a moist but well drained soil.
