Pennisetums are known as fountain grasses' They carry long attractive, white - grey cat tail or caterpillar like flower heads from early Summer, July onwards, over an arching green fine leaved foliage clump. lasting well into the first heavy frosts. Plant in full sun and a well drained but moist soil.
They look great in a border, and make a great container specimen for a strategic spot as they have a lovely arching fountain shape.
