Lythrum virgatum 'Dropmore Purple'

Known as ' Purple Loosestrife' the Lythrums are another group of Native American wildflowers, suited well to the mixed or prairie style border, but also effective in a traditional cottage garden border. They grow well in sun to part shade in any reasonable soil, and particularly in boggy or wet soil, This particular variety has spikes of reddish- purple flowers from from June onwards.

Supplied as chunky healthy plants in 9cm pots ready to plant out, this size of plant will often outgrow those supplied in much bigger pots as they have a more established root system, we do not sell plugs.
