Melica Transsilvanica 'Red Spire'

This Melic grass has deciduous fresh green foliage which is topped with reddish flower panicles from early summer, provides a delicate, easy on the eye backdrop to ferns, thalictrum, digitalis etc in a woodland edge setting. The foliage then ripens to a wonderful ochre purple into the autumn months.

Ideal in a naturalistic planting scheme, or planted in blocks in gravel gardens. This lovely grass prefers full sun to part shade in moist but drained soil and will increase slowly. Ht 90cm x Sp 50cm
