Molinia caerulea 'Strahlenquelle'

Molinia grasses are known as 'Purple moor grass'. This form, is much sought after with its tall, arching plumes of purple airy flower panicles held high above an erect fresh green foliage mound from mid-summer onwards. Strahlenquelle - means "Source of rays" possibly describing that In the early Autumn the whole plant fades to a warm butter yellow with great colours coming through if the plant is backlit by the low autumnal sun.

Prefers a good soil in full sun to partial shade. A great statement or grouped grass
