Rudbeckia or 'Black eyed Susan' all the varieties we grow are hardy and combine well with Ornamental grasses & other perennials, they withstand drought (once established) & are sturdy in windy open sites. They all steadily increase from a central clump & can be easily split in later years. Maintenance involves leaving them to stand during the winter so you can appreciate them covered in frost or dew, then cutting them back down to almost ground level in early April.
