This section features the type of grasses that we describe as being evergreen, that is, even though their foliage isn’t necessarily “green” they keep their foliage and colour throughout the year regardless of the weather, Whilst often, actually changing and improving with the colder weather.

They tend to be the lower growing of all the grasses and as such lend themselves nicely to being grown in pots and containers, used as infill in amongst perennial and fern plantings, or as structure for the front of borders. Plus they add extra colour and structure to exotic type plantings alongside Bananas, bamboo, agave etc. We normally recommend a proportion of these grasses in most of our clients planting schemes.
